The rules and entry guidelines can be tricky to find on the Famicase website unless you read Japanese. Here is a translation into English from the 2024 Guidelines which explains how to Enter MYFAMICASE Exhibition Online.

Note: Entry has now closed for 2024, so be sure to check back on the Official FAMICASE website below in February 2025 for details on their next contest and follow METEOR on Twitter

FAMICASE Official Rules in English (Translated):

However if you want to prepare in advance, here are the 2024 Guidelines translated into English, as we imagine they shouldn’t vary too much:

“My Family Case Exhibition” will be held again this year!

“My Family Case Exhibition” started in 2005 as an exhibition event where creators from various professions designed the labels of Family Cases on canvas. Since then, it has been held every year in May during Golden Week as an annual event.

For this exhibition, which will be held for the 20th time (2024), we are looking for works from everyone. The submitted works will be published on the official website and will be exhibited at the venue. Please read the application guidelines below carefully before creating your work. Please note that we may decline your application if it deviates from the regulations or if the intention or content of the exhibited work is judged to be inconsistent with the purpose of this exhibition.

◎ Eligibility

Anyone can apply. Group works are also possible. Only one work may be submitted , regardless of whether it is produced by an individual or a group . Multiple applications are not allowed.

◎ Application period

Recruitment for 2024 has ended as the specified number of applications has been reached. From March 1, 2024 to March 31, 2024 (must arrive by 23:59). Please note that we will not accept any works submitted after this date under any circumstances. Please note that there is a limit to the number of items that can be displayed at the venue, and applications will be closed once the number reaches 250 (some submissions will be accepted on the day). The status of the number of entries will be communicated from time to time via @meteor_club ‘s X (Twitter) account. We kindly ask for your cooperation in making sure that the works you plan to participate in will not be published on social media until April 27th, the day of the event.

Regarding works from 2024 onwards: Original works . The genre is up to you, but we do not request sampling or parodies. We prefer works that express the “ideal game” envisioned by the creator. The use of images created with AI and the use of materials (photos, illustrations, 3D) from copyright-free sites for label surface data is prohibited. Please check the terms of use of each font vendor regarding the use of fonts. Please refrain from creating works that lack consideration for unique works or people, or works that infringe on copyrighted works. Also, please refrain from entering derivative works that could be judged as advertisements, such as existing original works or events. Copyright belongs to the author (or author group). Please note that from the time you submit your work, it may be used for the following purposes.

(1) Use on the official website
(2) Exhibit at exhibitions in Japan and overseas
(3) Use in other media such as event-related books, magazines, videos, etc.

◎ How to apply and enter MYFAMICASE Exhibition Online

Please send the three items of data: “Label surface data”, “Software maker logo”, and “Entry text” to “ info@marksuper-meteor.com ” by attaching it to an email or using a data file delivery service. Please be sure to use the attached data sample below for the data file and entry text .
We have a sample zip file(with guidelines written in English) below. Please read it and use it. You can  download it here (zip file for submission) (zip document: label_sample.jpg/logo_sample.jpg/text).

1. “Label side data”

When using a general cassette (Nintendo, etc.) as a format, the label side data size to be created is 90mm x 43mm. If you are planning to use a cassette with a special shape (Konami, Jaleco, etc.), the size of the label side will be different, so please measure and check the size of the label side you plan to create before creating. * Entries cannot be submitted using large cassettes (Namco, Koei, etc.) . To make it clear that the software is not actually released, please do not display the words “Family Computer” directly on the label. In order to maintain uniform output, we will output to labels, round corners, and attach labels to cassettes. For cassettes that have a label on the top (Namco, Bandai, etc.), please create a design for that as well. The data on the back of the cassette is not required. The cassette itself cannot be transformed or colored. We will only use the data on the label side. If you are planning to use a cassette in a rare color (gold, silver, clear, two-tone, etc.) or a cassette that is difficult to obtain, we would appreciate it if you could also deliver the cassette. We may not be able to accommodate your request, so please let us know your desired body soft color (desired color) and a backup color (second choice). The output data will only be original size data of “jpg/CMYK/image resolution 300dpi” created using image applications such as “Photoshop” and “Gimp” . Please attach RGB data if necessary. Please be sure to convert the font into a bitmap, merge the layers, and submit. Color proofing will not be performed. Regarding black, when printing with K100%, the output will be lighter than it appears on the monitor, so if you wish to output strong black, please create black data using rich black . (*Paper used: A-one’s “Film Label Water-resistant Gloss (White)” / Output Printer: Canon G1330)
data size is 50mm x 50mm. Only the original size data of “jpg/RGB/image resolution 300dpi/monochrome 2 gradation” . Please create in “black and white” without using gradations or other gradations . Please note that detailed images may not be reproduced as they will be used on exhibition panels, websites, etc. 3. Please provide the profile data below in

  “Entry Text”

in text format. You can also write it in an email.

1. Seller’s name (real name or SNS account name, cannot be anonymous)
2. Seller’s occupation (cannot be false)
3. Title of work
4. Desired body soft – up to 2nd choice (color or software name)

*Please write the work title and explanatory text in either Japanese or English.
*The number of characters in the explanatory text will not change, but it will basically be displayed in a pinched format, so if you have a strict line break specification, please clearly state that in the text. (25 characters horizontally x 8 lines vertically), the display may be distorted.
